The new governor of Alaska, Mike Dunleavy (R), creates worries among the legal cannabis industry. Even though he claims not to have any intention to change the cannabis legalization or manipulate the marijuana industry in any way, his appointment of a new member to the 5-member Marijuana Control Board makes some wonder.
The nominee is Vivian Stiver and she is considered to be a cannabis critic. The idea of having her at a state board that regulates marijuana is not very popular among the legal cannabis industry.
Dunleavy has also said that he has plans to propose a repeal of the board altogether,
