Cannabis against Alzheimer’s in UK

British researchers are going to test if cannabis can be used to treat people with dementia and Alzheimer symptoms. This is the first trial of its kind in UK.

The researchers are trying to recruit volunteers among pensioners with Alzheimer’s disease. These results will then be compared with a placebo. The drug in question already exists- it is a flavored mouth spray called Sativex.

If successful, this trail will be followed by a study that will be much larger.

Cannabis-based treatment will be offered to dementia patients
