Fewer companies test for THC as legalization grows

In the wake of nationwide cannabis legalization fewer employers are testing their workers for THC. However, people in the national and federal sector are still at risk. Cannabis, at least for now, continues to be illegal on the federal level.

Teddy Morse is chairman and CEO of Ed Morse Automotive Group in Florida with 1.200 employees. He says the company no longer screens for THC, but for other drugs, like heroin and cocaine.

Joyce Chastain, a human resource consultant, says that many of his clients no longer are testing for THC, since “they don’t want to lose good people”.
